Tran-x are delighted to have partnered with those innovative manufacturers ‘Road Track Race’ and be part of the team bringing the superb ‘Rocket’ to race specification for the 2011 season.
Leighton Norris, Director of Road Track Race, said “The Rocket was initially designed and built to respond to the market looking for a fresh styled alternative to what we would refer to as ‘a traditional’ fast-road/track kit car. The Rocket’s reputation as a real ‘Drivers’ drive is due not only to its low centre of gravity, expertly calculated chassis distribution and a enviable power to weight ratio, but also its progressive technology that allows owners a continually enhanced ‘driver experience’. With an international distributor chain in place filing the needs of our Fast Road clients, producing a Race spec’d version is a natural progression for both the ‘Rocket’ and ‘Road Track Race ltd’.
The upgrades have really pleased our current Track day clients and the pre-season testing indicates that, although we can expect a small amount of race load de-bugging, it’s going to be a great ride!
It would have been easy to just purchase a selection of upgrades and bolt them on, but we have a reputation for innovation and excellence and have worked with a number of key aftermarket manufacturers to produce this ’Race Rocket’. We have a great Zetec engine running Jenvey throttle bodies, Hi-spec brakes with all round calipers that give us an additional ‘Out Braking’ advantage, and pulling it all together is a specifically calculated close ratio Tran-x box and LSD ensuring the full power of the engine is harvested and kept down on the track.
Tran-x are approached by many teams and drivers, and their PR company ‘Concept Multimedia’ are mindful of the potential pitfalls of such an association. So when they offered us a sponsorship we saw it as a seal of approval from a long standing and highly regarded company.”
Dan Jones of Tran-x says “Throughout our years in this industry we have consulted on many race series and individual set-ups. Talking to our customers and associates is one of our greatest assets as we believe you have to spend time understanding what a driver or series promoter expects from the vehicle if you are going to provide the right solutions.
Getting involved at such an early stage gave us the opportunity to have input in a number of area’s which meant we were able to deliver a truly integrated solution.
Watching the thrilling ride it produced on the track made a sponsorship deal a no-brainer for us as it is our technology that makes the power and drive train work so brilliantly together.
We are very proud to be putting our name on this first ever ‘Race Rocket’.”
