Synchromesh Engagement Gearboxes
Using our extremely successful gear kits we can build you a bespoke gearbox that is ready to fit. This removes all the dirt and stress of building your gearbox along with some added extras added into the box to give you the best possible product.
In the case of our Type 9 gear box we can build using one of our stock donor items or if you have your own donor which is in good condition then we can use this to build with instead. Using your own donor also has the added benefit of reducing the cost! However as Rocket donor gear boxes are extremely scarce we will more than likely need a donor gear box supplied.
Whichever method you choose, each unit is expertly stripped and ultrasonically cleaned. All major parts are then crack tested to make sure they pass our strict quality standards. Each casing then goes through a stringent cleaning and preparation procedure to ensure that the gearbox is not only aesthetically pleasing but is also free of all dirt and any foreign objects that could cause problems.
The gearbox is then built up by one of our highly experienced build technicians to a set build regime to allow for full trace ability throughout the assembly. Included in the build are a brand new set of seals, gaskets, baulk rings and bearings. To further add to the durability and performance we use a brand new solid one-piece selector finger, which is made from aviation specification material to ensure you never miss a gear. This coupled with our alloy lid and breathing system means that you can push that little bit harder with confidence. Finally the unit is then passed through our comprehensive test procedures.
SL72 Dog Engagement Gearbox
For the more demanding driver/engine we have our SL72 4/5-Speed Dog Engagement gearbox. This expertly built; bespoke gearbox uses aviation materials throughout its design to ensure it never fails when you need it most. Dog engagement gear selection ensures shifts are rapid and precise allowing you more control and a much higher level of performance. Built with either an alloy or steel main casing the strength in this gearbox allows it to take on the higher power figures and give you a controllable gearbox with the ratio you need to keep on the power.
